Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

@BullChick and @Alaskan this year I'll do some decorating, (I'll get the display out front up, maybe add to it a bit) but Sioux Falls son wants to hunt the tree in the woods when he gets here on the 23rd. So we will wait this year.
Ooooh! That will be a fun family job!

Tell him if the tree shoots back... he needs to look for a different one.

We get a real tree but have these tree farms as neighbors ..
Woke to peeping Pond. Placed eggs the 17th of October

Weather or not we get a real tree will depend on if DH can find a job or not. We did it for the first time last year and loved it. We do have an artificial though if we have to.
We had an artificial one when our kids were little because we kept ruining floor surfaces with the whole water in the base thing. We still occasionally drag it out and use it when we are lazy about trapsing through the woods.

Hello, Pond!
It’s sunny and 70* on my lily pad today! Beautiful day, but a bit warm for deer hunting. (Not gonna complain - at least I’m not freezing on my stand.)

Didn’t get in to see Mom today, but (kind of) talked with her on the phone. Her spinal block finally wore off, and she has reached the, “What was I thinking when I signed up for this??” stage. She’s getting some good pain meds, but they definitely make her groggy. Dr. said they’ll wait until Monday before discussing letting her out. I’m glad for that. I’d rather the worst of the pain be managed there.

Have a happy rest of the weekend, everyone!

For those that have been around the Pond for a while, you’ll probably be shocked to see the Tadpole. Her 4th birthday party was today (birthday actually the 9th of this month). We celebrated at the gym where she takes gymnastics.
