Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

The church we currently attend always has a Christmas Eve service. We have been going for years, even though it wasn’t our home church when we first started. The little country church we belonged to had a candlelight Christmas morning service. I miss that…View attachment 3355677

That's beautiful! I don't have a good picture of the front of our church all decorated up for Christmas. Here's one with all the kids though. They moved everything out of the way and did a quick Christmas presentation last Sunday.

I do have one of the back though, taken from up front.

We love our tiny little church. DH and I found it when our youngest was just a baby and we've all grown in it. The kids love it, we love it and even though we moved away, we still drive the hour to get there every week :)

I love the pictures! Our little church was started in the 1870’s. Back when every quarter section of land had a large family living on it, our church and all the other little country churches were full every Sunday morning. When we quit having services, we were a congregation of 9. There are now 7 of us left. My grandma grew up in that church. So did my husband and my kids. (I didn’t grow up where I live now, but we attended that church whenever we came out to visit our family in the area. I have always felt like that little church was home.)

Good morning, Pond. It's the calm before the storm right now.
Good Morning, Sour and Pondites! We too, are experiencing the calm before the storm. Our blizzard warning goes into effect at noon. It looks kind of pretty out there right now.

The warning currently goes through Saturday. Darn. I guess I’ll have to stay home and get ready for family Christmas on the 26th - 27th. I have a bunk bed I bought for the grandkids to put together, cookies I want to make, more krumkake to make, decorating to do and presents to wrap.

On the flip side, I hope all of you who are traveling or have family trying to travel will be safe and have a Merry Christmas. I feel for families who may not be able to get together as planned this year.

What a beautiful scene to have outside your house that you can every time you look out.

Yep...

Ferry for eldest was canceled due to weather.

In a panic I quickly got the last (very expensive) plane tickets off the island and to Anchorage.

:fl

Here is hoping the first flight leaves on time so he can make the connection to home.

Yeah, the ferry was rescheduled, to leave Saturday afternoon and show up Sunday morning!!!!!
