Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Ww had guests last night... I was SHIVERING on the couch! (The guests were not visibly shaking).

We made the kids start a fire.

I refuse to be cold in my own home. We have a furnace with forced air heat. No starting fires here - just turn it on. When that doesn’t keep me warm enough, I go to the basement, grab the remote and turn on my gas fireplace. Spoiled? Probably. Blessed? Definitely!

Saturday was the opening of our firearms deer hunting season. It was cloudy so no beautiful sunrise or sunset pictures, but this is the view from my stand Sunday afternoon…

Good morning pond. We had an interesting weekend. I was mindlessly scrolling through Facebook and was greeted with pictures of a wildfire going crazy within a few miles of our church. Pennsylvania is not known for fires but we've been so dry for months now without much significant rainfall. We live an hour away from our church but we were checking in with everyone that lives close. Thankfully they were all safe and the fire was brought under control by the next day or so, just for another one to start just another 45 minutes up the road. We got some rain finally on Sunday though and I believe we're getting more soon so hopefully that doesn't happen again.

On a lighter note, we've been getting ready for the holidays. My youngest will be 18 next month but she suggested that we get window paint or chalk markers and decorate the windows for Christmas. Well we were having fun with them a little early and started decorating for Thanksgiving instead. We may end up having to order more for Christmas lol. I did the turkey, DD did the Peanuts scene and DH did the pumpkins. DS is being a party pooper (or just lazy) and hasn't done any yet lol. I may attempt a cornucopia today on another window :)
