Good morning and Merry Christmas eve pond dwellers!

I can't get my Silkie broodies to hatch a chick. :idunno

We used to live in Newnan!!!My daughter was born when we lived there.  Boy it has grown around that area.

That's what I tell our 4H kids about building chicken coops.  They don't have to be pretty, just functional and SAFE!  We have so many that think about keeping the chickens in but not about keeping the predators out.

:clap
That is aweful! :hit   I always worry about our camelids getting out.

On the other side of things, we have a guy who runs cattle on a lot of land around the county and has pasture that borders two sides of us.  We have a dirt road that runs between and we often have uninvited "tourist" that go down the road.  Anytime we see suspicious activitiy we contact him, or if we see his cattle out (which happens frequently).  He dropped by unannounced yesterday and brought us a Hilshire farms gift box just to say "Thank You" for helping him keep an eye on his cattle in this area.  :)   It was a good lesson for the kids to see that selfless acts of kindness do get rewarded.

We all need to meet in Newnan! Everyone knows everyone here and their animals. This was just an unfortunate accident when the horse got loose in the middle of the night. Not a good way to start Christmas Eve for either party.
