Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

will have to,plus tie her to a tree as back up. Worried if she tied to fencing she'll take that out

Poor thing... Only 2 things I know that will do that to an animal-fear or pain

The horse has either pulled or torn a muscle on her front leg in the shoulder agree. Her back leg has issues from previous history (long story) so now adding a front leg with problems it making things worse. Her muscle is tight and hot, it hurt so much she nearly took me out when I brushed it to check her hooves. It swollen twice the size it should be, to make things worse she refused to let us give us bute to the point she nearly squish me and drug mom.

I used to work with Thoroughbred racehorses.

Is your horse comfortable with walking in water, and do you have a safe pond available? Water immersion will cool the muscle and reduce swelling and discomfort. Maybe then you could get her some meds and get her healing started.

I finally had to separate my little non-thriving itty bitty Serama chick. She's still hanging in there, but the other 3 are just outgrowing her so much, and getting so boisterous, I'm afraid they were going to trample her. She just kept trying to crawl under them. I gave her the brooder plate, I think the other 3 will huddle together and be fine without heat. (in the house, 70ish degrees)

she has a pond she can enter. Dad will have to do it because I don't know how deep our pond is and I don't float in water. The vet is coming out tomorrow to see what's up, and from there we'll decide on what to do. I can give shots if need be, but if it something like a surgery we can't afford that which means if it better for her we'll make the hard choice.

Just candled my Cochins. Three are right on target and looking good! One is iffy, and one looks like a quitter (nice red spot but also has what looks like the red ring of death). I broke open one that was clear. I had marked it when it was delivered because it didn't look good. Very loose inside, and pourous shell. There was nothing there. Not fertile. I hope I get some good chicks out of this. Disappointed with that yoke color. Maybe I'm just used to the dark yokes of my spoiled girls.

CHRISSY WALKED!! She actually put her injured web right way up and limped 1 foot back into her crate!!!! :weee

Oh, a question..... How on earth do you get a mad ducky to open her mouth?? I quit trying coz she was pretty close to drawing blood. :th

She sure ain't lacking in jaw power.... She got so ticked at me that she went back into her crate, as detailed above. I know how to get a chook's mouth open, but ducks lack wattles, and wow do they have teeth....

Hold her like a football... not joking... and curl your hand under her jaw, the hand attached to the arm around her... use your thumb and first 2 fingers on either side at the base of her bill to force it open... once open, keep your thumb tip or fingertips in at the corners to keep it open...

Oh, and hold on tight... she's not china...

She's improving in every way except for eating. Probably going to have to tube her. :(
