Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

oh WV, I meant to comment about your free ranging birds.......

if you aren't looking for friendly, or pretty......white leghorns could be the answer for you. Heck, I'd imagine any of the leghorns would work...

i agree on this i had a brown leghorn that would roost 40'+ in a tree behind my shed
but laid eggs in the coop
she was super fast and a great lookout for the other birds, better than my rooster at the time

Thanks! I've always wondered if white birds stand out more to flying predators. Maybe browns would be a better option.

Now that's awesome! I'll look for some.

I was just typing that notion, as you posted. Any but white would be my preference.

This is not her highest perch, but it took forever to find her. She's probably 6ish years old in this picture and still laid a lot

My dad texted me this morning. He said he took a dozen eggs to my mom, a dozen to my neighbor, and still has a ton of eggs. Wanted to know what he should do.

I just told him to stick them in cartons and to eat more eggs. :gig

He can preserve them for 2 years! See this!

Or pickle them
