Got rid of 20+ roosters today![]()
Got my 2 black phoenix, a chocolate orp bantam, my Easter egger chocolate whatever, and a black ohikiXorpington left. White boy, blue boy, and black boy (real original) are still here as the free rangers as they always have been. There's a brown leghorn left that escaped and I couldn't find this morning so he will go with the next batch of ducks.![]()
Other than that and a few bantam Orpington cockerels that were too young to butcher yet and then my breeders I am down in roosters!
tipsy? Or deformity?Mini, how's the little one?

I'm due for a rooster purge as well.
Some still hadn't shown their colors in fall. A couple I saved so that I could sell trios, but didn't have any demand for trios. One is a CCL that is dorky looking and his replacement is a lot nicer looking.
And then I will throw in some unthrifty and older hens to round it out. Guess it's time to can again.
I'd like to "retire" my 4 year old Broad Breasted Bronze turkey hen. She's close to 40 lb and showing her age. Hubby doesn't want me to do her in.
no super old hens. Got a couple 3 year olds. Still laying halfway decent. These guys were all too small to send in the fall. Some were still fairly small but I don't want to feed them anymore. I even got rid of jackass the brown leghorn rooster.I'm due for a rooster purge as well.

tipsy is well. I vent sexed the tiny thing the best I could and she appears to be a hen. She is starting to walk on her feet more instead of her entire leg.Tipsy
Walnuthill, that's a crazy big turkey hen.
