Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Now you see a big reason why I love them so much... they are much more emotionally aware than any other poultry I have seen... they grieve as well...

Agreed. Chrissy moped for several weeks over the loss of her buddies, and still perks up for a minute & starts quacking when I take her outside... Then stops when there's no answer.

I really like that dusky ling #4. So pretty. Love ducks, at other people's houses. Pics are great.

I'm thinking of culling my Orloffs.

Just don't have the time to devote to a breed that needs so much work, and mine are not what they need to be. Plus, with 2 roosters the girls are looking really ragged and I have no place to separate them out. Think I'll keep a couple of the best Orloff hens, and order eggs from some of the top breeders and start all over again.

Will still keep Sue and my mixed layers for colorful eggs, and the trio of Cemani, which need their own space desperately. Hopefully next week I can get some construction, and processing time in.

Of course!! And then some, since you got a few more eggs, lol...

:love I think my air cells are a bit small. It's day 16, just turned them and checked a few. :/

She needs a girl friend... :(

Sorry for that... :hugs

But you gotta do what's best for you... and them... glad you are keeping Sue, I really like him!

Mist or sponge them once a day and recheck them in a couple days... if you mist them, make sure the water doesn't pool somewhere in the bottom of the bator (that's what happened to Ruby) or set them on a towel next to the bator to mist and then replace... humidity will spike for a while but once it dries off the eggs it may even be lower than what it was, don't worry...

Have you ever seen any pics of my ducklings on a tabletop???

Sorry, had to laugh... nope, that doesn't happen with ducklings...

#1 is a grey...
#2 is either a silver or variation, may be something new...
#3 is a gorgeous blue pied...
#4 is blue dusky with white eye marks...

Isn't there 2 light colored ones? Got a clear pic of the other one?

Seramas are a gorgeous pair!!

There is another that looks like #2, same shading (head slightly darker than back) and one that is all yellow but with a slight peach haze to round out the sixpack.

The cracked egg developed and hatched perfectly without being sealed. I did sanitize all six just to reduce the chance of infection through the broken shell.

I thought Grey had orange feet? These feet are pure black!

I'm going to be on the road 14 hours tomorrow, I'll get pics Thursday.

I've been keeping an eagle eye on CL... Can't find anything not expensive and far away. I am not paying $120 for five feedstore quality ducks. :/

She has the SH babies to play with, but she just pulls their tails... She's never liked chickens, lol.

Thanks.

I just don't have the space, money, or desire to have too many birds.

Thanks Sue wants to have absolutely nothing to do with me, which I think is a good quality in a rooster. He should also pass on a blue egg gene, so I can play with egg colors.
