Noticed an SDW in the nest box late this evening, thought she was just laying late. Went back out after dark and she is still there! If she is going broody on me, she will be #10 for me this year. :/ (I could just give her some eggs out of the incubator, less than a week in, and let her raise all the kids!)

I cursed myself by saying I was only going to let Harriett be my designated broody!

Lol! Yep, you cursed yourself! Give her the bator eggs, that's what I prefer to do anyways... easier to get the clears and early quitters out then give them established eggs...

I won't even count the chicken broodys... had 4 (or 5?) already hatch clutches... the Blue Copper Marans hen I kept has been glued to a box since I sold all the other Marans, 3 Am's are down now too, an AC, and at least half my Ohiki...

My silly broody has just begun a game of double bluff. She went broody, so into the broody buster she went. As soon as she's there, she acts like she is not broody. Like a fool I let her out - she then sprints for the nesting box and acts broody again

Seems this is her new game - what joy

I do, but they've made nests in horrible places, like in the pile of rock! I think there are probably 10 nests in places like that right now.

Ah, now I understand... all my Calls, except 1, are inside the Call pen... the blue fawn stole my juvie duck coop just as I was going to move a group out there... luckily, most of mine brood, hatch and raise theirs in the pen and with the flock... but they're snagging all the good laying spots of the others, lol...

I tried to make a nice spot with straw, but they won't lay there.

Looks like you have a very nice setup for them.
