Thanks Sour.  I'm actually not exactly sure what day she is on.  When I found the eggs on April 22 they looked to be about day 4 on candling. So if she started setting around the 18th, they would be on day 19 or 20 now. 

Just went out and closed the chicken wire, and will set up food and water in the morning.  I agree, that's probably how one of the eggs got cracked, and it was the only Legbar egg.

I've tried everything this year, from open in the coop, to partially blocked off, to blocked off mid-way, to full move 2 days before hatch, to full move right after hatch. I just had to go with whatever the rest of the flock was doing at the time, and adjust to what would work.

My problem now is my black serama has her babies in the run, none of the others are bothering them, so I tried to open up the white hen so she could bring her babies out, but one got killed. I suspect the black hen, but don't know for sure. I don't know how/when I'm gonna get them integrated. :/

She sounds terrifying, but she lets me hold her babies. Cos of that, she's my main broody... Not messing with the chicks is impossible for me, lol.

Me too only my hen never went broody, she'd do it if you or any other hens walked into the coop.

Howdy K. I love my broodies, I have nice ones.... They do all the work for me. No temp spikes and consistently high hatch rates.
