Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Yes, high winds are a pain when combined with snow.

Can't play hockey on the sand

We played floor hockey in Texas, on the basketball court.

Yep, power goes out here and we're good! Any food in the fridge can go out in the snow and keep just fine. Got lanterns and even got a set up on the back wood stove to heat water for baths n dishes! Let it snow! :lau
Only problem we haven't solved is wifi!:lau

We have different camping gadget things, and big battery boxes to plug the WiFi box into. :D

I remember one time it snowed in San Diego... they let us all out of class to go to the Quad to look at it... That was in 1967

When I lived in Galveston it snowed once...same thing. It was a freak snow in the middle of the day. Everything stopped so us kids could go out and look.

My dad said that when he was a kid, he never saw snow. He saw pictures in books, and was sure it was some Yankee conspiracy. Something about them trying to come up with a nice explaination for all of the soot and pollution raining down. :lau

@kwhites634 I actually lived up in MD for almost 5 years. :)

Close to DC since my dad taught at Georgetown. We lived in Chevy Chase section 4. What a crazy designation, huh? Never looked up why.

I remember, I think it was in 5th grade, the teacher asked us what state we lived in.... I didn't know. I knew my street address, and I had a great sense of direction, and walked home every day (took about 30 minutes), so in the classroom I pointed what direction my house was in, and said that way.

She was pretty unimpressed.
