Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Thanks, dear! That's a good explanation. :hugs

I had a very chitty childhood. One of the few things mom didn't mind cooking & that I actually enjoyed: ham & beans with corn bread.

With nuts, of course. ;)
Home life was hard for me too, dad, anyway occasionally mom would have a can of peaches and just enough of the other stuff to make a peach cobbler..Still a fav to this day!

Well Ham and beans with cornbread.... Could be the very definition of comfort food.
I had a chitty childhood too.... But without the good food.... My mom can't cook aTV dinner.....

Do you cook the same now?

We'll have no talk of nuts around Sour's banana bread, if ya don't mind - or vice versa, for that matter :D

I don't cook much. I would like to try ham & beans.

 Yes, sir.

Some are more practiced in such matters than others

:frow :lau

:hugs We ate mostly canned & frozen crap. I don't ever remember my mom making any sort of dessert.

Maybe cooler water?
I just don't ever even fish for Bass..... The great lakes area is a pretty deverse place for fish.... So I just Target better fish.... I'm stricky fishing walleye at the moment because I have plenty of fish in the freezer. If I needed fish I would fish for Bluegills right now....
Definitely cooler water.

I finally caught up....I realize what nice people you are...I would kill my kids if they did some of the stuff you all had to deal with.... Honestly I didn't deserve such good kids....I pray everything works out for you all.
Like a said shawluvsbirds let her she know you are angry but don't go overboard.... But you are a injured party here too....I gsve all my kids cars when they were old enough to drive.... That's more than my parents ever did. But all my kids were working by they age....I made sure that had better cars than me.... Because my daughter is the only one who has a clue as to how to work on a car.
I think it's getting harder for kids to get work anymore.... Here because of rules in the AHCA they can't get enough hours to justify driving 30 miles to town....a 4 hour shift doesn't hardly cover gas after taxes.
When I was a kid I worked Pretty much full time.... One year I was working night shift.... Now that's. Not even legal.
Not sure if that's for the better or not.
I think all my exposer to the job market when I was younger gave me a good work ethic.
But I got my first real job when I was probably 14..... Think I was 12 when I got my paper route.
