Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

How is everyone?
Dig this....I was laying on bed last night....and my lungs just opened right up.
I thanked God....enjoyed a fewDEEP breathes and fell asleep.

Awesome, Phil! I hope that whatever was in the air has moved on.

We spent the weekend up in the woods and missed a tick on the dog. It was the size of a grape, and behind his elbow. That was disgusting.

I thought hard working kids were a thing of the past. Congratulations!

Mine will help with enough "encouragement" but they rarely offer to help on their own.
oh it's never voluntary on their part.......lol

but I think they are learning why hard work is a requirement, and the rewards that can be had with it.

good case in point.

we are pouring a slab for them, basketball for the older kids, and scooter/skating rink for the littles.... it's 24'x24'

we had a load of sand delivered to raise the slab, and ensure level ground underneath it. Well that is the same day, my tractor with the FEL, decided to take a dive. So all of the kids learned the value of the prep work for the slab that weekend. We spread with buckets and feed tubs (wheel barrow split in two after first load) 14 yards of sand. everyone either had a rake, shovel, or was carrying loads of sand that weekend. They also learned what can be accomplished in as little as one day, by working together.

That's awesome, Bert. Lessons like that will stick with them forever.

good deal, hope you got some good sleep.

Now that must have felt really good, Phil!

:ya    Awesome Phil.

Do they make Gordon's in keg-size?

Glad to hear it.

That's awesome, Phil - yayyyy for breathing deeply and sleeping soundly!

Thanks friends.... yeah it was great.....trust me the one thing you never want is breathing issues.. ..cuz if you can't breathe nothing else matters.

thanks, but, ugh, and maybe me too......lol.......hunched over for a couple of days, while my back worked out some kinks.....

actually, I miss that type of extreme physical work. I get to it once or maybe three times a year. Enjoyed swinging the 16# sledge, driving the stakes too......

x2!

And when they play on that particular slab, they will always remember the hard work that went into creating it.
thanks.....should make for some good stories....I can just hear them now, when their kids start complaining to them, "why back in my day, your Pappadaddy made me move 14 yards of sand, all by myself, with nothing but a teaspoon, and a feed tub!!"
