Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Just popping in to say hi. I've got a big, overdue project going on and can't stop for long or I'll lose my motivation. Two and a half years ago, I inherited my aunt's house and all of its contents. (Actually, I only inherited half the house.) Said house is 3 1/2 hours from where I live. So, we had to hurry and clean it out to sell. We just boxed it all up and it's been sitting in my garage ever since. I can get my car in, but DH's pickup has sat out the last two winters. He has given me a date. If I don't have the stuff out of there by Nov. 20, he says he's just going to chuck it all in the dumpster - unopened boxes and all. He's right. It needs to go. I do better when I have a goal. (After 35 years, he knows how to motivate me) So, I've been going through stuff. Lots and lots of stuff. Stuff that no one wants, but it feels weird to just dispose of someone else's life. I have a few things I'm keeping, and donating a lot to our local thrift stores. Dumpsterizing a fair bit, too. I was out there for about an hour tonight. It's about all I can handle at a time.

Have a great evening, everyone! I do check in from time to time throughout the day, but don't get much chance to respond to things. Just know I'm thinking about you all during the day.

I have a closet in my garage still full of my mom's stuff. Initially she moved to AZ, so i took half her stuff then. She died a couple years later (2014) and i got a bunch more. We went thru alot of it right after she died, but i still have alot. I wish hubby would give me some motivation to go thru it. So :hugs to you for starting to get it done.

Since when am I sweet?

:frow SCG!!

I think the antler comment makes it sound like they fall off and regrow.

Only until water splashed out turns into an ice sheet. Then no bathing is allowed.

Nothing worse than coming out and finding that your ducks can't move because their feet froze solid onto the ice around the water tub.

sounds good.
I only had duck and Jane last year and we used a bird bath heater for their water bowl. Worked out pretty good. . but now I got all the others. Not sure I can do heated baths for them Lol

So I like this plan I think. I didn't really think we needed insulation at all actually but. . it will prevent drafts down low where they will be if we just insulate the walls. Besides I like the way it looks with the exposed trusses. Husband thinks they are gonna freeze to death lol.

yeah.... the water IN the pan stays liquid...but the water that splashes out freezes.

So it is important, once it gets really cold, to make sure that what they are drinking out of can NOT be bathed in or splashed about.

So I got him to agree to leave the front truss. . he don't wanna cut into the back. But he said that he will leave the ridge cap on the top open and not insulate the roof so that more air can escape through the top. He thinks he can also make a pull y system so that the Windows could be propped open. How does that sound?

Tell him I said :thumbsup

So, you're sour then? :D
How're ya doin'? :hugs
Still want any AC eggs? I finally got them laying like crazy and good quality too... :)
