Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Just heard back from my aunt on the chickens. She doesn't think he's quite ready for the responsibility yet, but maybe next year!

Also, apparently he really likes spending time with me and learning about the chickens, because I actually talk to him like he's a person and, unfortunately, his parents don't do a lot of that :( So she actually suggested his gift be a 'coupon' from me for something where we spend time together, like taking care of my birds with me or going to the movies.

I'm thinking I'll get him something physical too, but also tell him I'll take him to the chicken show I'll be entering in May :)
Make him up a chicken keeping kit.... a book, a kerchief, gloves, an egg basket... Hen treats...

Bwhahahahaha

I'm still at a bit of a loss for what to do for Thanksgiving. It will just be the 4 of us, and maybe our elderly neighbor... I could just do one of those Costco Turkey breasts, except our neighbor likes the skin and the -what does she call it.. oh yeah, the "pope's nose". So it's gotta be a regular bird. I need motivation, though. Just not feeling it this year.

I'm not in the mood either. I dont know what we are doing at all. Hope to go see the Tadpole.. Friday isn't a day off for me this year (first time in many, many years) but i have a feeling I'll take it off anyway.

Good idea!!
Staring out the window with binoculars, the ducks have found the water pan i gave them to swim in, and the 3rd food dish lol. I was afraid they weren't even eating, just staying in a corner. Maybe they will eventually feel at home. :fl

If it weren't for the fact that we are expected to be there, I wouldn't go. I love seeing family, I just handle it better in individual doses....
