Just knocked a hole in it but a dark egg like that makes my egg customers go nuts . I'm hoping for more it's the darkest this year so far . The roosters goes back to them soon . DW wants more Marans the eggs sell so good . Really adds contrast to the cartons.

Good gracious, somebody stop this ride, I want off for a bit! :D

Broody update:
Ducks are doing great. Wanted to move them to the big pond this weekend, but forgot the transport crate, so unless I come up with something else, they will be at home another week. They are eating like PIGS and growing like weeds!! :D

Harriet and her 4 are great too. She has given up mothering and gone back to laying eggs, and Darryl is happier...

Maggie and her 7 are in a separate pen. She is still kinda bitchy to anything that comes close, but is being a fantastic mother.

Katherine and her 8 are the most adorable! Gorgeous chicks, great mom.

Unnamed comet has 5 so far, still sitting on about 10-12. I candled and still see some life, and she's still sitting, so I'm leaving them till she gives up. She actually let me pet her and hold the babies, so I think she's starting to trust me. That first chick is 5 days old, so I can't believe she's hanging in there so long.

Unnamed lav orp hatched 2, the others were DIS. She had the 2 babies out in the run with the others today and they part like Moses parted the sea for those chicks. I'm afraid one of my big boys will stomp one, but so far, so good!

Cocoa/Mocha - choc orp on OEGB eggs, are due tomorrow or Friday. I saw a couple internal pips tonite. Only 5 eggs, but they all look good!

2 incubators running, then I quit for a while. I think I have enough chicks now

:th

Yep, sounds like here... but double the broodys... and betting more next week... :th

That's cool - are turkeys usually more personable than chickens?

Yep...

I flunked all those . :gig  But you make your brothers and sisters so proud :hugs  congratulation and :fl for the C Os I haven't a clue how many  I have . Bet Rayan  is afraid to count . :gig

I'll count after this weekend... hitting the auction again... we cleared $113 after their cut from last Sat... not bad for a bunch of juvie boys...

Dang!! I didn't know yiur Marans layed that dark!

Very much so.  If I had to choose between species, I'd keep turkeys.

Only issue is their inquisitive pecks now that they're huge... btw, the big bronze is in love... and vies with OGB for my attention... :gig
