Oh no! Im sorry! Something get him? Nice turkey eggs! And I did think of chicapee but I don't think she has posted here. Beautiful RPs she has. Everyone around me does the Apple stuff, but I think I started with the windows stuff to have my spreadsheets, which weren't available on iphones, way back when. Ans I like being different lol! Dont have much fun app choices, but saves me from buying a bunch of crap I don't need anyway. I didn't even have a data plan on my first smartphone, until they forced me. Happy Friday everyone!!
Think a possum... someone forgot to clean out some old eggs outta the hospital cage and it found a nasty surprise last night... 3 of them, lol... trap is set once again... the boy sucks cuz he was Merry's son... not a correct Lemon Blue but I was trying to breed him back to her to see if I could get it correct again... never happened, her eggs are super hard to hatch and she doesn't lay often... :(
Awesome on the eggs. Sorry about your boy. The eggs will be readily identifiable for life as to who laid them.
Cool! Now if I can ever actually catch one laying, I'll be golden... I swear they're the most self conscious layers I have ever seen... or NOT seen, lol...
and i am sure your ducks miss you, and you need to lock down your calls :fl like this, dark brown but speckled tummy, the tuft is cute but i dont care about that
LL
nice turkey eggs! very pretty sorry about your blue boy :hugs i think someday i will try turkeys again glad she is clear, i hate those stupid bugs! hope everyone fares well :fl
That's a blue bibbed from mixed colors... the bib can vary from a clear small bib, to large and extended, to speckled, etc... and a shading of fawn color over the blue can happen as well... and yes, there are crested as well, but I'll never, ever breed those... crests are caused by a hole in the skull with tissue sticking out of it... it is hit or miss on hatching survival along with hit or miss neurological issues in the survivors... I have many varied blue bibbed in my flock... I'll see if I can find the range of colors and patterns...
Well, I'm selling my 2 lavender orpington cocks on Monday. I hatched those boys, so its a bitter-sweet deal. Was planning to process them this weekend, because 2 of my 11-week olds are getting big enough to replace the older ones now, and I was dreading it. But I got a text yesterday wanting one...... and she decided to take both, since they have lived together since hatch. So Yeah! They are 16 months old and going to a place where they will have 35 hens to share. I hope they continue to share well, and take care of their new girls. :)
Always sucks to replace, but super glad they're getting an awesome home! :hugs :highfive:
Need I say more.
Nope... way too many of those anymore... :/
someone will tie my shoes for me??!!!!??!??! :celebrate
Yup... but you can't share my window on the short bus... that's mine to lick and I don't like sharing... :plbb

Oh, I love the crested look, just not the side effects... DIS is hard enough to deal with in the breeds I raise, getting babies with a good chance of issues is much rougher... a BYC member has a crested Pekin drake named Tevye and he's one of my faves ever! :)

400

Blue bibbed and a silver bibbed, overly bibbed...

400

Smaller, more clear bibbed in middle...

400

Also getting this color in the front right that I'm not sure what it is yet too...

i like them all unfortunately
3rd pic - i see the bibbed bottom right (lavender?*), the top right (in same vertical line) looks like my 'snowy' boys as juvies

Yeah, similar coloring... except I have NO chocolate in my flock, lol... fawn, but not chocolate...

The juvie that looks like yours is a pure Snowy... I do have Snowy mixes that look similar to yours... or at least the female I have looks EXACTLY like Peep! :gig

You are such a poultry enigma. :gig
I get so confused keeping up with your bird color genetics. Note: Not chocolate, fawn, but that's ducks. Lavender AMs split to black...etc....
