X 2, but glad your DH got the raccoon.  Hopefully you won't have any more losses!

I had a really busy day, too.  Work was complicated and then I shoveled compost, went to the library, cleaned the chicken waterers, etc. Then cooked dinner, brushed the dogs, etc.  I'm beat.

And I thought I did alot today!

Ducklings shouldn't wiggle so much.

Trick is to wear them out first... then get their pics...

This new phones camera is awesome. As if I didn't already have too many chicken and duck pics, now its gonna be worse!

And yes, those stinkin bazterds. I'd like to load the traps with explosives.

We trapped one the other day, but all we got was a leg. Not sure if it chewed its own leg off, or if it died and something else ate it all but the leg. :/

Completely agree on the explosives... at least some M80's would be effective...

Unfortunately I think those are the only two that will hatch. The other two under the broody died (1 zipping, 1 pipped).

Yea. I think the 6 I have in lockdown are all quitters Will leave them in for a couple more days though.

Don't think so... chocolate is an even color, fawn has the chevron patterning like greys but no eye stripes...

This one might be Lavender... hatched some eggs from a friend and she said she had Lavender Pied... but the one in the other pic was hatched out of my flock while the ones I hatched from her were still babies...

Good evening scummy friends. Long afternoon, but I finally made it to our camp.

Hated to leave the house, my broody OEGB already has 4 out of 6 pips! I was refreshing her food for the weekend and she got off the eggs, so I got a good look at them. She's early! I didn't put them under her until a Sunday. Was hoping to be home for the hatch, but hubby had other ideas. :/

Going to a bridal shower tomorrow for my son's soon-to-be-wife. It's sad, I'll be thinking about my little broody the whole time

And...I lost another hen. Looks like a coon got her. Hubby found her this morning. It was either my black/lav split or the black. I think it was the black, but will have to confirm tomorrow. They were already roosting when I got here, so I couldn't tell for sure. that one really makes me angry. But at least he caught and killed the coon too. Took 4 shots of a 9mm to the head for the thing to die!
