Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Hey, Peeps, we could start a chapter of Perps anonymous --------------------------------------------

PPA pond perps anonymous, its a horrible addiction....

Yea but everybody already knows who we are!

Was having a great weekend until my trustworthy border collie proved to be untrustworthy. She ripped the feathers off the back of a little crippled hen we have and tore the skin on the back of her neck.

Oh man, that sucks. I'm sorry. :hugs

Can the doc fix her or was she too badly injured?

Hope she heals up quickly.

Hello pond folk. Hope everyone had a great weekend. I'm so glad for an extra day off work. This weekend flew by!

Still got tons to do, but got rid of a nasty coon! Score another for our side! :yesss:

Hope to see some pips soon.
Humidity is good...... :fl

Are you candling to check for drawdown and internal pips???

I would have to do individual runs. I'll try to get pics of the existing structure this week to show you what I have to work with. @RavynFallen thought about those pvc feeders. I have questions about those also. It freezes a lot here, the icy rain &snow. How do you get the frozen pvc pipe covers off? Mine would also have to have a cover. Mice are very bad here.

For caps, I was thinking something more like one of those upside down cone shaped HVAC caps with flat bendable metal strips bowed out underneath to slip down tight inside the PVC... that way the edges of the cap extend out around the PVC so you can whack it upwards to pop it off... did that make sense?

No it was the crippled leg AM that's supposed to have surgery. We flushed the wound, cleaned with betadine and wrapped the tear. Later we flushed it again with a saline solution and put on a fresh gauze wrap and gave her aspirin. She's in the house now. She's ate and I gave water and Nutradrench.

Poor girl... hope she pulls through! :fl

I think you should give EmergiCare classes for chickens! That sounds so professional! :thumbsup
