Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Quote: Metronidazole (Flagyl) is an antibiotic/anti-protozoal. It can be used in poultry to treat blackhead, necrotic enteritis, giardia, trichomoniasis, and other protozoa and/or bacteria sensitive to it. Cheapest way to get it is to buy the tropical fish tablets like Fish Zole or Aqua Zole.

Quote: For all poultry I give:
  • metronidazole 50 mg/kg (22.7 mg per pound) orally twice a day for 5-30 days depending on what I think it is and how they respond.
  • enrofloxacin 10 mg/kg (4.54 mg per pound) orally or by injection twice a day for 5 days.

Both drugs are banned for use in poultry.
