I was rooting for the Patriots..... Looked like they set totally out of it.... Even if the Falcons had won I wouldn't have been disappointed.

Like I said..... Historic game.

Good morning everybody

I didn't watch the game I was pulling for the Falcons figured they were due. Go figure history was made and I missed it. Fiddling with incubators

Temper was down a couple of degrees and humidity was 20% . So I didn't set eggs Its OK though when they hatch I want it to be as close to sale day as possible .That way I have less feed in them . Ben is gone to the center I got a couple minutes and out the door for grocery shopping .

Have to get a new battery for the Crown Vic so I can take it through emissions tomorrow and get it transferred into my name .Then I have to deposit the chicken check in the bank and pay the water bill . Then come home and set eggs

Barring is sex linked, for sure. If I breed two Barred Rocks, even hatchery stock, I should be able to get a reasonable approximation of the grandparents from the hatchlings. That is what I use for a "breed or no breed" test. But if I get something else, they were not pure. There are dilution genes like blue that can create a little havoc in this simplified model.

I was thinking barring as a way of sexing chicks. Crossing 2 barred birds, chicks are not sexable at hatch, right? (I seriously can't remember) But yes, barring is sex linked for sure.

So do you think any hen that lays an egg, colored other than white or brown, can be called an Easter Egger?

Wish I could remember the dot or strip on the leg bars . Ravyn dot is pullet ? the legbar Am crosses are black barred and until they grow waddles I can't tell which is which
idunno.gif
.Also the markers are a very small dot or stripe on them .I don't like them much . I really need to get all my breeds separate although I really like the way the GLWs crossed with the Marans pullets look. They look the look like a black GLW but lay a mid way between in egg color . But I don't think I should breed beyond that point . EEs are I thought any egg layer that lays a blue or green egg so would olive eggers be an EE ?

Or also any chicken that the AM association doesn't like the traits of .
