Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Chrissy's foot just came off!! Thank you Lord!!!

It came off as a nice cap, the stump is very clean cut. Bled a bit but stopped quickly, and I wrapped it up with gauze and vetwrap. No infection visible!!

It came off when I was putting her back in her pen. Somehow, my friend didn't seem as elated when I sent her a pic.... Can't imagine why...

hate to be happy for her losing her foot, but it beats the alternative.

Awesome! I thought so when I saw those pics last night. I'd keep doing the Epsom baths for a few days starting tomorrow, just to keep it clean and stimulated.

I can't imagine that working in humans. Bird anatomy is pretty awesome.

Okay, thanks!

Sick amberlink hen update. Has been getting 250mg amoxicillin every 12 hrs. Is starting to pick at chick starter crumbles I gave her. No interest in scrambled eggs. Drinks TONS of water now. Her crop has started moving again (the most concerning part to me when it was stopped). Her comb has some color back and she is more alert and has her balance back. She actually ran from me when I startled her yesterday. Huge improvement from the chicken I found laying on the ground unwilling to move, eat, or drink on Saturday night.
