With everybody's chickens and ducks on the mend kinda boring today . I hunger for adventure carve excitement . I feel like kicking a bear slapping a lion pulling teeth from a gator . Or I could do something productive

Might as well start there and maybe I'll run across a bear later .

I should have those poop on paper towel pics tonight. I used paper towel instead of shavings in her cage this morning. I tried to get her to poop on a paper towel last night. She wasn't cooperating

use the toothpaste method........

start slowly squeezing at the neck, and work your way down......be careful where you aim the vent...

she's from mine? How come I never think my birds that I keep look that good and then I see them at somebody else's house and I'm like dang, that's a nice bird!

I'm sitting here eyeballing them and wondering if I could get away with a coop of seramas in the backyard of the house in town, lol. "They're not chickens, I swear."

If it goes gangrene, then you'll have to suck it up and amputate it yourself... or put her down... not being mean, but being truthful... gangrene is no joke... and won't get 'better'... and it's a horrible thing to suffer through until it kills them... Same goes for what's I gots too... am just super duper broke right now... :/ A little redness and *slight* swelling can be irritation from the part getting caught, banged, etc... watch for significant swelling, redness that spreads, whitish/yellowish lumps, dark discoloration, bad smell... And stop looking crap up... just ask here or PM... Maybe give her a few days of no soaks... let that part dry out more... might help it get brittle to fall off easier...

Agreed on the gangrene. I don't see anything concerning with the foot yet. I would also do as Raven said and not let her bathe for a few days. may help it dry out so it can fall off.

That foot looks shriveled and dry. My "Peg" gal's foot looked like that before it fell off. Once it did, the knob healed over and she had a normal life with the stub. She did have to learn to scratch with the other foot as the peg wasn't very effective. Smell and liquid and swelling are bad. Dry and shriveled, while not good, are signs that things are going normally. I don't think you'll need to amputate, but time will tell.

I agree with this completely. The rooster I had that lost his foot took forever to lose it but looked like your Ducks foot does and finally one day it was just gone. Frostbite is some nasty stuff and takes forever to heal

It's been one heck of a start to the year, my friend... maybe I'll get my chit sorted out soon and not be so loopy, eh?

Ah, now I did not say the least normal - there's some tough competition here on the pond for that accolade . Think about it - Sour always claims he's the most normal person he knows...
