Well I managed to keep busy today. While I was dealing with the frozen pipes in my basement..... It's not really a basement is a Michigan basement..... In the center of the house... Ten by ten concrete brick where the furnace is. Anyways I noticed the bath tub drain was leaking..... So I fixed that today.
And I noticed a while ago and reminded myself that I needed to put a new support pillar in where the sand part of the basement was. So I crawled down there and dug it out 4 feet deep and made a concrete form from plastic 4 gallon ice cream buckets. Then poured the first 120 lbs of concrette. Tomorrow I'll build a 3' by 3'by 6" deep form with rebar reinforcement and hopefully pour that. When all is said and done I'll install a floor jack and jack the sagging beam back up.
sounds like fun, not, i dont envy you

I think you're a glutton for punishment, Phil... wow...
Well, it's improvement at least!
Try it... just don't give them the peels...
what is bad about the peels??

Hey, now, I didn't do anything!

Started on the taxes today, and learned that Amy's Sweet Treats didn't break even... Profits were more than overhead! (Note--not just gross, but profits. Of course, we're talking barely 4 figures, but still...)

And I have Cackle's rainbow pullet assortment coming in late April.
CONGRATS!!!

My Serama set isn't doing too well.

1 was clear, but the air cell was pretty large and the shell was porous (30g)
2 showed color, but stopped before an embryo was visible while candling. (24 and 30g)
2 more appear to show ring of death, but leaving them in for a bit yet.
A couple more are questionable. Still glowing orange, but no sign of growth.

I am not sure if it's "good" or not, but those growing best are the tiniest eggs, under 20g.
that stinks

Glad you did..... That turned out to be a historic game. I'm not a football fan but I'm so glad I watched that band. I'll be able to remember that one till the day I die (or alzheimers kicks in)
I thought the reason the pats were losing was cuz I was watching....

are you really a falcons fan? or do you just hate the patriots?
I could probably get you some Falcons crap, Dan Quinn (the coach) is my friends brother :)

Here's the baby rabbit in my sisters hand, she does not have small hands either.

awwww its so cute

On the topic of EEs and sex links and whether they are breeds or not, I'd say no. Usually EEs have common traits but not always. Sex links are the same way. For example, look at these that I just hatched.

They are both EE and sex linked, but they really don't look like a chick you'd think of when you heard that, lol. Still, I used barring to create a sex link and I used the green egg gene so they will lay green eggs. If I can't call them EEs then what could I call them? Not really naked necks, because they aren't. They have the naked neck gene and thus have that trait, but they by no means meet the Naked Neck standard.

i want them!!!!! I'll trade you a pair of spitzhauben for some! later not now LOL
