Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

So I'm curious. What is acidified copper sulfate used to treat? The only thing I have found reliable info on is blackhead. Just wondering what it is useful for (other than no algae)!

I've heard it helps with early sour crop... but I can't say for sure... never had a single bird with sour crop though...

So today I discovered something interesting.

Under a regular light.

the flash was on so it washed her out but miss amberlink says hi!

The papertowls in her cage were destroyed, so no poo pics there. Tried to get her to go on a towel in the floor for 2 hrs. Nothing. I walked away and she pooped in the middle of the floor. :he

She's MUCH more active now! Still picking at crumbles, not actually eating.

Glad she is more active, sorry for the poo escapade (sounds par for the course, lol)... and hope she keeps improving!

The acidic part is citric acid which is a common preservative the cooper sulfate is a supplement used to promote growth in young animals and poultry. it is a very small part of most starter feeds .as far as treatment algae is all I can remember but I know that I have seen it in more than one topical solution or the years . Not sure it been along time since I've used it but coppertox and I know that's not the way it's spelled comes to mind for treating infections in the frog and sole of horse's hooves

:thumbsup

Copper is an antimicrobial... it's why some recommend dropping pure copper pennies into water wells in the incubator, too...

All the gamebird breeders I know swear by it, from generations back...
