oh myOh man the conversation I just had with someone wanting to buy a tablecloth makes me think we need to be teaching kids their shapes better.
The lady called up, said she wanted a square tablecloth, says 52". So I say okay, 52" by 52" and give her the price. She says no, she wants it 52" by 70". Okay, so, oblong, not square. No, she says, she needs a square. So a 52" square or a 70" square? Nope, 52" by 70" square. So you need an oblong, a rectangle shaped tablecloth?
This went round and round for awhile before I convinced her she did, indeed, need an oblong because 52" by 70" is NOT a square.
