here is 6 of then. 7 just hatched and 8 is externally pipped. I think 9 has quit but not sure. Number 8 is the teeny tiny egg. I had 2 tiny eggs and one quit about day 15. This one is loud so waiting on it to make an entrance

Hi there, fun post, my baby, who adopted me, just layed her first, blue egg. I'm thinking, she needs
a frtiend. How about a couple of doves? Her housing precludes another chicken, I fear competiveness.

I'd suggest a mild mannered grown hen of docile temperament that will let yours be alpha. Do a little breed research...I've found my Sulmtaler and Cream Crested Legbar girls are the most stable in my flock of 200 birds of 20 or so varieties and don't require special care. If someone wants to boss them around, they walk away. They would get along well anywhere.

Same here...tried to sleep in, but no such luck.  I have no brooders to clean.  Yay for today's hatchers!  I wish some of you hatching folks lived close to me.  I'd come help clean and be happy to watch hatch tv with ya, too.

You could entertain Marbles for a while... :D
