I candled eggs on the Incuview Saturday....apparently did not get the lid back on right. It was partially open on one side. I just found it. Ben 48ish hours... Reading was 75.4. Did a quick candled 2 are questionable the rest I don't know about. Put the lid back on correctly and just gonna keep my fingers crossed.

It seems decent other than my human error

And hopeful goose egg...giant double yolk Ancona duck egg. This definitely is not my evening.

The girls like a big long snood.

I considered it, but decided to hand turn. Mainly because 23 eggs completely filled it. I'm not sure I could have gotten any rails in there to hold the eggs. Thought maybe when I removed clears that I would have some room..... But NO Clears!!

Oh no!! We'll hope they are ok!!

I have a broody that abandoned nest on day 14. Eggs got cold. Another girl sat on them for a day or so, but she was wandering around today too. So I'm going to candle them and decide what the heck to do with them. Incubators are full.

Except.... I guess I could experiment and put them in the cabinet thing and see what happens. Probably all be deformed.

Okay, now that I see your comment, not sure I should have asked about, well you know....?? diameter.

cool.   Wish I was able to do stuff like that...  There is a huge junk yard about six miles east of me that disassembles old travel Trailers.  so axels springs and chassis frames are available.

Met him at the Love's station at 65 and Bear Creek... he was going to meet up today and I would have told you when, but he decided to drive over in the middle of the night last minute, lol... was awesome to see him...

And I saw a comment about sanding lines from air cell to pointy end, kinda like when you half peel a cucumber lengthwise. Said that made them easier to candle, and lose moisture better. I think it would be worth an experiment! Lol
Peg is impossible to not adore!!

I didn't do that just knocked of some color over the air cell end with a scotchbrite pad. But I washed them all this time and put a little bleach and hydrogen peroxide in the egg wash mix . Well see if they hatch . Bound to get a few I set 186 about 50 of those were Marans eggs. I got chickens I don't even know what they are but there are only 4 chickens out there I didn't hatch. Not only do I not know what they are I don't know how many there are .

Personally I prefer to use actual heat plate brooders as I just feel more comfortable with them, but that's a personal preference. The chicks love them.
