In other hatching news... Checked on Harriett (oegb on 7 serama eggs) before I left the house and could hear peeping!! Peeked under her breast feathers and found an empty egg, still moist, but didn't get to see the baby. But I heard at least one!! So excited to see how many she hatches!
Very cute! Probably makes a better job than me when I'm using the phone
Hopes saying hi to all her peeps on BYC
I essentially told her to get a parakeet or a guinea pig in order to have company while watching TV.

Storm hit K after us... he said minimal damage, think part of his tractor shed roof blew up and a tree down in front yard...
That storm was no flockin' joke... I was in the duck pen when it hit and would've stayed there until it passed (funnily enough, not a duck sheltered in there with me, they all stood with bills pointed into the wind and hail) except I realized Peg was in the middle of the yard... she almost got flattened by our huge kennel that got thrown down the hill and was being pounded by the awful hail... rescued her and we hunkered down and rode it out... our solitary confinement coop got picked straight up and slammed upside down on the other side of our juvie duck house... other than that, everyone and everything survived...
This isn't snow... it's 6 inches of hail 3 hrs after it happened...

Sitting in the waiting room this morning. Wife is getting her procedure done this morning.
I have a dang hen turkey that waits until I go into the coop to collect eggs, then lay one on the doorstep before I come out.
That's right up there with the two turkey hens who squeeze themselves into a chicken nest box to lay, then require extrication. EVERY DAY.
If you ever find yourself in a situation where you have a single duckling hatch, you will soon understand how needy these little ones can be. After 4 nights of loud peeping at bed time, I thought that maybe my picture in her bed would help. And to my surprise, IT WORKED!!! The crying stopped instantly and when I went to see why this is what I saw... Little Hope sitting in front of my picture? She is finally happy and I can finally sleep!!
