Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

I have a dang hen turkey that waits until I go into the coop to collect eggs, then lay one on the doorstep before I come out.

That's right up there with the two turkey hens who squeeze themselves into a chicken nest box to lay, then require extrication.  EVERY DAY.
sounds like they like the attention :lau

i caught one of my roosters raping my ducks last night when i went out to feed
i grabbed him and my husband yelled at me that i couldnt put him in the other coop

i really need to do something about all the gd roosters

all looks delicious, but my husband wont let me kill them

last time we had to cull a 2 month old chick, i went to grab the axe and he freaked out and said it would be more humane to shoot it, with a .22, i think it took like 6 shots
the thing was already 1/2 dead

seriously

I think I'd leave them one day, then take them out the next. Maybe they would reconsider.

Doubtful, right...

thanks Walnut.... Me too.
I think between this and her changing anti depressants this may ease up.
Is been so overwhelmingly stressful this winter.

better days are ahead, my friend.

those wood ducks are so tiny compared to your others!
and why have you not eaten the freeloading deer yet?

I was shocked how tiny the wood ducks are!! I know its what my little Calls are going to look like, compared to my big ones!! EEEEEE! (bottoms still on, Ravyn lol)

And the deer! Holy moly, I had just walked inside, stepped back out and there were 5 coming down the driveway! Then I heard the feeder spin. They know what time it is. But I'll let them get comfortable, and fat. Then I'll pick one out to invite to dinner.

Oh, the toms like it there too. They are getting the first dinner invitation. Around April 17th

In other hatching news... Checked on Harriett (oegb on 7 serama eggs) before I left the house and could hear peeping!! Peeked under her breast feathers and found an empty egg, still moist, but didn't get to see the baby. But I heard at least one!! So excited to see how many she hatches!
