Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

The twins are still alive. Since the egg was 100% dark, I opened where the air cell was supposed to be and wiped neosporin on the exposed membrane. Right on top is a yolk sac, indicating an upside down poult. I will wait until the yolk sac is more absorbed and go in after them. The other appears to have its beak near the membrane but not in normal hatching position.

Walnut, is that the actual egg? Surely not? They can't still grow can they?

Have you ever read of twin poults hatching? Chicks are happening more often, and even ducks a little more, but I don't think I've seen anything on twin poults! C'mon babies!!

I've never heard of it, but that's not to say it hasn't happened. Would be cool to get 14 poults out of 13 eggs...

Oh yes, as long as they don't get too much bacteria in there (hence the Neosporin) they can finish growing just fine. They are probably 6 hours from ready to hatch, and now is when it gets dicey as poults are normally internally pipped at this stage and these cannot.

Thanks! And no, no word

According to Sand Hill's ordering info that means they didn't ship.

Drat, sorry! Hoping by some miracle, they'll show up today.

She doesn't trust you.

My Serama broody's hatch is about done, 6 hatched, 1 left and it's pipped. She lets me feel under her and touch the babies.
