Got the plates for the trailer... it pulled like it wasn't there. They loaded ten bales of hay on it at the feed store all but one went in a single layer on the floor. Our Bermuda bales run about 102 pounds these days...

My son went with me.... While he unloaded I broke a bale and fed it to my girl.... Katee mumbled the whole time.... Katees a funny horse... very seldom whinnys or nickers except in ULF.... but she rumbles and mumbles when shes got something Good to eat.... I get about with a walker so it would have taken me about four hours to unload the trailer. He unloaded in about half hour.... pretty good for a city boy with asthma...

Oh and Backing was easy peasy... Just get it going the right direction and follow it in. Space is short so I had to do some zig zags. Done it with the horse trailer... I was less nervous with this because I could see all around it.

By the way thank you for starting this thread.... There are few places I really fit in... Because I havent had chickens now for about four years I really dont feel I can contribute except anecdotal... But here Games on.

Good news on the trailer - should make life a lot easier.

Chickens or not, advice or not - who cares? Admittance to the pond is not based on those criteria - if it was, I'd be out on my ear

Thanks.... Every flock of chickens I have had has come to an untimely end in one fell swoup. Same goes for the Guineas.

Either dogs or Coyotes or raccoons or bobcats..... Of course my own stupidity was in there somewhere. Though I can claim I have never had a case of Coccidosis, or had to worm....

Injuries... I have dealt with... but nothing more than a dab of blue-coat or a dunk into sugar (Stops bleeding) I had one Guinea that got a leg pulled off by a raccoon. She lived with little more than an isolation cage and clean environment.... Easy access to food and water and no bullying. She lived a year before accident took her.

That trailer is going to be used alot. I have ten years worth of accumulation here at this house that needs to be stored at my own house. Horse Buggys are a bone of contention here... I hope to get them relocated home by the end of next month. those and a couple of new 110 gallon Water tubs...

I got a bunch of harness and a couple of riding saddles that need a safe place to live as well.

sigh... I miss my home... and my trip up only made me ache for it more....

Thanks.... Every flock of chickens I have had has come to an untimely end in one fell swoup. Same goes for the Guineas.
