Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Mind if I Ignore you for a minute to test it out? Lol.

Well, I didn't mean to 'ignore' you! :lau

Okay, I'm gonna Ignore you. Can you see this post?

Edit: Hey look at that. Unlike the old system, when you ignore someone you can't see their posts that have been quoted. I can't see your quote in my own post, lol.

Well, that's different...

So...ignore just means you don't see what the "ignored" person posts, right? :D

I would guess that you wouldn't get an alert for tags, or tag won't work at all either...

A gallon a day?? Wow, i would not have guessed that much!!

Actually a gallon a day is I think considered minimum for a milk goat. I think Feta actually produces about 1.5 a day. My older sister has one goat that produces way over 2 gallons a day, 3 at her peak, which I find just a crazy big amount.

Feta though she makes only a bit over a gallon a day, has had no decrease in production and she kidded back in March. So I am pretty happy.

Those look so impressively tasty.

Good looking roos. What kind is the black one in back?

Black Ameraucana

Damn... Grandmas up and shes got the shakes... I may be off for a while... She doesnt want to call 911 I will give it an hour...

So glad she is now doing better!

I hear Nigerian Dwarfs are pretty close to a gallon... Three quarts not uncommon. And their milk is loaded with butterfat.

Kinder goats are a cross between Nigerians and Nubians.... smaller goat breed all year long not seasonally and higher butterfat in the milk. Though I couldnt find a quote on the amount of milk they produce

It is actually pretty crazy how much goats can produce. Goats are fascinating!

I just talked to the kids about upping Feta's feed intake again... she is still looking like a good Jersey! I want to try to keep her in milk and put at least a tiny bit of fat on those hips.

Not sure how to measure how much fat is in her milk...but it isn't skim. :) (and Saanen's are known for high quantity but low fat). Even though goat milk is naturally homogenized, Feta's milk has enough fat that little fat clumps settle out over night.
