So a goat doesn't have to be bred to produce milk, like a cow?It is actually pretty crazy how much goats can produce. Goats are fascinating!
I just talked to the kids about upping Feta's feed intake again... she is still looking like a good Jersey! I want to try to keep her in milk and put at least a tiny bit of fat on those hips.
Not sure how to measure how much fat is in her milk...but it isn't skim.(and Saanen's are known for high quantity but low fat). Even though goat milk is naturally homogenized, Feta's milk has enough fat that little fat clumps settle out over night.
