Nope. Not a single chicken. Just ducks for me. I only have eight. .

Oh, i blew it.
Checked on my broody bantam cochin and she had an external pip under her, but the chick was dead. I think the other girls have been knocking her off the nest the last few days, they just started laying again (of course!) So I moved her and she got off the eggs. This one had internally pipped and was cold. I had no idea how long, so i went ahead with the assist. I tried putting her back on the other eggs, I'll go check her again in a bit.

Yea, you're right. I don't doubt that i can save this one. But if she doesn't go back to the others, i guess I'll bring them inside too. Maybe she'll take the chicks. I'm just mad at myself for not moving her sooner.

I believe we've all done similar, and more than once or twice. It'll all work out how it's supposed to.

I've had such good luck with them this year, i got cocky.

Last weekend, she was out for her feeding break so i checked all the eggs she had. Some were further along than others, so i left the furthest ones with her, and the others were given to my chocolate orps. since then, she gathered 2 more eggs! I just went to check on her, and she's on the roost pole, not on the eggs, so I took the other 2 live ones and brought them inside. They may have another few days to hatch. I left the 2 new eggs, figure if she gets back on those tomorrow, there's more chance that i can trade them for any chicks I might hatch.
Oh well, it's not like I *need* any more chicks

Edit - this one looks splash, from what i can see, and i do need it! Lol
