Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

These are mule deer, so taste a bit different, but they are good if you take good care of the meat. I may get to go hunt an pronghorn as well. My wife is still learning to enjoy game meat, but I love it. Best all natural, free range, organic meat there is!

I never look a gift deer in the mouth, lol... ;)
Still better than any store bought chunk of meat...

Oh ya. . . making me hungry.
I like to beat mine with the meat hammer. . coat it in seasoned flour then dip in egg milk mixture then cracker crumbs and fry in butter or shortening. Kinda like chicken fried steak. Mashed taters. . green beans and a biscuit with white gravy made from the drippings. That better be in heaven too. . Lol :drool

Ah, everything but the hammer beating...
I like my meat to be meat... :drool

I think I'm going to have to make some of that! I do that with the wild turkeys I've gotten. Turkey schnitzel. Then turkey noodle soup out of the dark meat. Mmmm. Now I'm getting hungry.

Never had mule deer. . .but I bet I would like it.

Since they live on sage brush a lot of times, they can be a bit more gamey, but I think most people overcook their meat way too much.

2 more weeks till our archery season. :celebrate
Neighbor got this pic on trail cam on our property! :drool

That's a great buck! My buddy just got a really awesome mule deer buck with his bow. Still in velvet! A 28" wide 4x4! I haven't ever shot a whitetail. There are none in Utah, but there are some in Idaho.

I don't always do it . . loin pieces don't really need it. But sometimes if it's an older buck it can be a little tough without a bit of tender isn lol

Waiting patiently for Chris to comment in the morning about me beating my meat. . . :lau
