Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

You know if you insulated somehow your cold issues would resolve somewhat.... Could be as simple as cob on the outside... Or building a sleeping cube. Four poster beds had a purpose besides decoration or play in the old days.... Castles were inherently cold... So they built the beds inside a frame with curtains on the sides to keep the heat in.

Same goes for Curtains over doors.... Windows we understand but they used to put curtains over the doors to keep the cold out and the heat in.

We're insulating a little at a time as we can. It's much better this year than previous ones. Hadn't thought about heavy curtains, and didn't know that about the beds. Thanks, I will definitely talk to dh about that idea.
:hugs

4 poster beds in castles  not in my neck of the woods I don't think . Stately home, chateaux, yes but I didn't know they used 'em that far back.

Can my incubator's humidity be at about 27? That's about as high as I can get it to go :barnie
It can work, I have run 27% before... shipped eggs? Have you calibrated the hygrometer? What measures have you taken to increase humidity, and what incubator do you have? Remember it is surface area, not depth, that raises humidity. You are going to be rather stuck come day 18 if you can't get it above 27%.

That's good to know. How was your hatch? No, they are my own. Leghorn EE and RIR/EE. I'm not sure how to do that. I bought it, slid the battery in and then slides it into my incubator. The entire bottom is covered in water and there is two wet paper towels and a wet wash cloth. I made my incubator. I found it on YouTube. It cost me twenty dollars. Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of :(

I don't remember, around 30% maybe? It was shipped eggs. Humidity has to be adjusted by the air cell. Some times I have to run nearly 40% to get adequately sized air cells.

A good link on calibration.

The curtains werent just for decoration they were for warmth
