Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

I find that the more the house temp fluctuates the more insulation the incubator needs. Or find a spot in the house that has less air movement and therefore a steadier temp. For example a closet.

I actually usually incubate better in the winter because the wood stove keeps my humidity lower.
I hadn't thought of that. My problem is the afternoon heat in the building. It hits kinda sudden and then dips in the middle of the night. So would a closet type area be a better place here?

Dayquil, Nyquil and chit tons of Cuties... :p
Nyquil :sick add some Benadryl .

Sheesh, I wasn't trying! Seriously, this chit sucks... yes, Cuties are clementines, tangerine/oranges...

Got the lemon and honey too... no worries...
Cuties Hybrid cross between tangerines and mandarin oranges

Not those kinda pics
Well they have to be family friendly  But when you think about it they are aren't they. Lots of families get started from those pictures.:gig

very possibly. You clearly need it far away from a room that is getting lots of solar gain, or at least buffered. So...the north side of the house is probably a better bet.

a high-low thermometer that records the peaks and dips can be very helpful.

I always laugh when people start a topic of discussion here on BYC, and then don't want to hear what everyone thinks about the topic they started  Just happened to me in the feeding ducks thread. The topic of fermented feed came up, people were sharing what they thought about it (most not fans), I added my thoughts on the matter, and the person who brought it up pretty much tried to chastise me for replying because 'someone already answered' and 'they didn't want to start a long thread with people piling on'. Fermented feed is a totally valid topic in a thread about feeding ducks, and there's no reason for me not to reply about it when the topic was broached

Anyways, I forgot to update you all on the ko shamo pullet. She's healing up well. Her comb is pretty scabby, but she's doing great. I'm hoping she doesn't scar because I'd like to be able to show her; we'll see what happens.
That is just rude! What a jerk!:rant

My mom just texted me. Apparently my rabbit is trying to get into her pants :lau

He's been in the garage while we've had this cold weather, and he apparently got out of his little area. When my mom went out there to sit and read, he kept trying to climb up into the leg of her pants.
Oh my! I had a hamster run up the inside of my pant leg while i was driving! Almost ran off the road!

An incubator dressed in a mankini is not what sprang to mind. Whatever floats your boat, I guess
Such a vivid imagination you have there Mr Porky . My mind always goes to Debby and Dallas :idunnojust the way My heating element is wired I guess :p

It's ok, it's frustrating, but I'm learning how to deal with it. So it's a challenge too..
It's the heating element that makes it hard to regulate . My cabinets do better in extreme cold than extreme heat .

For my little Styrofoam incubators I built a cabinet out of half inch OSB and lined the inside with half inch foam board . And they worked better at night but over heated in the daytime . A closet or cabinet either one would be easier to regulate .

I need to get a new wafer this spring too. I think that was some of my problem last year.
I think I have just the cabinet...:D
