Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

I'll be checking in. I can never quite keep up with this thread but I like to sit on tbe bank sometimes cause it's so interesting(and naughty:lau) and the company congenial.

Did ya see I tagged you about a question steven mazzo has. We think Lucky is about to lay an egg maybe?

Edit: Shoulda been a divider in the shipping box!:(

You're always welcome to pop in whenever! :hugs

Went to the Cardeologist today.... VEry nice woman... did my EKG talked a bunch adjusted my BP meds and signed me up for the next appointment in April... Oh and she said the new meds should bring my blood pressure down finally.... and I was a GO for surgery.

So Now I have a Cardeologist that is on my insurance.... :wee When I mentioned that I wanted bariatric surgery she said "Very good idea this weight will kill you eventually"

Just straight forward talk no judgemental inflection... ME LIKEY alot.

So Axiety abated for now New meds start tomorrow...

You know Chit happens for a reason... When this whole journey started I hadnt seen a doc in years. Even then seeing a doc on a regular basis there was that Elephant in the room I was ignoring. Now with surgery impending that Elephant has stepped forward and whacked me with his trunk and said "What Were You thinking...."

Its an AHA moment... That emotional moment where Chit finally sinks in...

On to the next phaze...

Thanks for listening

deb

Sometimes being smacked with an elephant trunk is a good thing. :D
I'm happy that you were happy with the visit.

And the surgery is a GOOOOOO!!! :wee

Has anyone spoken with Rav today ? I think she was feeling like crap yesterday. I hope it's not the flu. It appears that stuff is seriously bad - killing folks.

I resolve that heretofore: I will welcome newcomers, visit the Café, Rachel's thread, the NFC Birthday Chat and spend most of my time on my lily pad. There I said it. I will not try to help others or try to refute the bull crap that so many are posting as fact. I mean seriously does it really matter if birds/animals are put in harm's way ? Think I can do it ?

Orr already said it. :clap

:hugs:hugs

No, you can't, not sure any of us can.
Helping is what we like to do, so we'll keep trying and come back to the pond for support and:hugs.
We can't ignore an animal in harm's way, but we also have to not let it keep us down. We pass on information and do our best.
Yes, I know...I swore I'd not leave my spot...but. :idunno

:clap

So many things I want to reply to you, dear Sour.
First, you have probably built up more immunities than all of us combined (although I will be praying you don't have to prove that to be true.)
Second. Dang. Good advice is hard to find. Here's the thing. When I was a newbie, I was able to wade through the poop piles o' wierdos and get the best information. I never tried to correct the oddballs, but I could tell who had their head on straight (why do you think WV and I became friends?) - so, my opinion, for what it's worth, is to keep answering straight out. You will continue to help a lot of people. And, I love running into you on other threads - it's kind of like traveling abroad and running into your favorite neighbor! :)

Very good points, as always. I know you wade thru the muck here, but I'm so glad you stay. I love the travel/neighbor analogy. :) :hugs

I hope so :fl I've been wanting to go to this for months, would hate to have to miss it. Saved and stashed some money too, so I could buy birds.

I texted her awhile ago - she's okay but not feeling great.
I texted her Too lol. Wonder if she regrets being so kind giving her phone number out in times like these . . her phone is probably blowing up lol:gig
Hope she gets better soon!:fl

Thanks for letting us know about Rav. I'm sent a pm but hadn't heard back. And no cell service or long distance on the house phone. So all I can do is pm...:(
:(She said she is without internet for a few days.

eh.

still in ICU. Been a few days since he needed a unit of blood. They are having lots of trouble trying to get him off of the ventilator.
Sorry Al don't get away from the pond enough . Hadn't heard that .Hope he improves quickly .

Helpful? Information can be found all over BYC. Folks should be coming here for laughs. :D

Oh & maybe a hug or two here & there. ;)
Well wrap me up baby. Can I get a massage too just a short rub down be fine;) .:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs

Duh I for get :idunno

I hope our roads dry before they freeze again. My yard is a spongy mess. Now I'm thankful for all the leaves I left laying.
NTW ground is still froze and will refreeze quick . You be careful up there .:hugs

I haven't yet, actually, lol. I had to wait for the pullet to heal up. Not sure how far back you read, but the cockerel attacked her in shipping, due to them having not actually lived together before being shipped and they were put together in a shipping box as a means of introducing them to one another.

I really should get some pictures now that she's mostly healed up.
You better make them lovers or learn how to artificial inseminate chickens :gig

Irrational adults..... But but but what did we do,?.......:idunno
But but but what didn't we do :lau

there there poppet.

one VERY happy pile of news! Don't forget! Elephant dung is warm and is a fantastic fertilizer! :ya

Now that you have acknowledged it's existence, you can gather up all of the poo it has been leaving and grow some flowers! ! :wee

@Pyxis, thanks. On our local news they had stories of 3 people who died in 24 hours from the flu. A child, a woman in her 40's, and a body builder in his early 20's. What chance does an old guy have ?

stay home. never leave home. Yeah! Problem solved! (I hear tell that you can even get your groceries delivered)

Sorry Al don't get away from the pond enough . Hadn't heard that .Hope he improves quickly .

Eh.... it is cancer number 2 (he survived number 1, 5 years back)..... He has been in ICU now ever since his 12 hour surgery. .. December 16th or some such? He is still bleeding internally a bit... but that has slowed down  now the current big worry is that they still can't wean him off of the ventilator. :barnie The fact that he has been running a fever the entire time, and has post-op-pneumonia, and his kidneys almost failed but they are improving, and his heart keeps being unsteady... are no biggies at present (say the docs)

I am a wreck. :idunno

:hugsOh al. . I'm so sorry :hit:hugs
:fl and prayers for your dad and you.

My dear Sour...I'm sure you've heard: An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Now please stay put on yer lily pad. I put a nice blanket & pillow there for ya.

That goes for all you folks. I worry about all the frustration you cause yourselves. :hugs
Why bother with all those other threads? Life is much too short to spend time getting worked up about someone that might simply be yanking your chain.
Hey baby take a walk on the wild side :lau Yeah though I walk the valley of death I shall fear no evil . For thou areth with me . And being heavily armed don't hurt neither . Now adays its lord my pistol be always loaded and my eyes strong to aim and the strength to pull the trigger Amen !!!!!
