Short update: I left to go spend the day working on the set almost in tears. (Yeah, I let it get to me a bit.)
When I got to the construction site, I was greeted by people hard at work, two dear, old friends, and the lead worker who really knows his stuff. Whew.
It's still going to require a huge amount of hours to get it all painted and together correctly, but I feel a lot better about the process.

I, too, am a bit concerned about Rav...
And Broom, I am so sorry we didn't get to meet up. I probably could have raised your trip satisfaction up at least a half notch... Okay, maybe a quarter...

I have to finish packing.... and I can't just toss a bunch of non-stained, non-torn clothes into a bag, and once there have my mom dress me.... nooooooooooooo

I have to CHOOSE and pair down etc! Turns out that there will be close to zero luggage space in the car my mom rented for me to drive the lot of us all over speedy tarnation -vill!!!

Sorry, Al - I wish I had some words of wisdom. All I have is So - how long are you going to be gone? You know you can wear pants more than once. Can you bring 2 or 3 pair? A coworker who travels a lot told me that she pretty much only owns black and white shirts because they go with anything. Got black and white clothes? Laundromats can be handy places when traveling. You don't have to pack as many clothes, but it does take time and money to wash and dry. I'll shut up now - I'm probably not being much help...

Maybe it is because I am old and unsuccessful. Being young and unsuccessful was fine. .. I had dreams... there was so much that was possible.



I am named after my great-whatever grandfather. He refused to go back to see the relatives until he had enough money to arrive in style. For that time period that meant tails, top hat, and a gold topped cane.

I don't wanna show up in tails... but I wanted to be swank.

Can ya get a couple of nice shirts? A pair of dressy pants? How long will you be seeing the people you want to impress?

Also, would you please define "successful"? Because to me, being "successful" means more than rolling in money. I think a lot of successful people are truly miserable souls. You live in a beautiful place - I've seen the Homer area and it's one of the most beautiful places I can think of. You have great kids. You are a contributing member of society and have a roof over your head. What more do you need to be successful?
