Well, my Marans shipped eggs must have taken a serious beating. I had to pull 5 yesterday. One had a blood ring and four of them had air cells that floated all over the egg when I candled them...serious scrambling. I still have 9 in the bator, but none of them looked very good.

Mine took an extra day to get to me. Out for delivery right now.

Slight snow this morning. More significant storm possible for tomorrow. Temps today supposed to be in the high 40's.

Temp's started dropping here already, it was chilly earlier but its definitely gotten colder since .I've had to kick up the stove..

Thanks! Honestly, i haven't tracked how often i get them, but they have increased in occurrence in recent years, and severity! Ugh.

Our rain is just soaking us here at the moment... Good old tropical storm remnants. I did a half hour of chicken chores (half of which were in the barn) and my coat and pants were soaked! I'm glad I put up all the "shade" tarps last week, because they are doing double duty as rain shelters now! I wonder if gratitude is a chicken emotion? Probably not.

Same here. I fought with netting long enough. Little more expense, but worth it in saved time and aggravation!

Sunny again today. Really going to try to plant my flowers today, and the pear trees. I bought 3 rose bushes in plastic bags yesterday at Walmart, $3.35 each...what a deal!

Can I come help plant? I really could use some diet therapy. We have snow on the ground with another 5-8” of the stuff predicted for Sunday.
