Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Sibling to sibling isn't the best, but its ok for a generation. Otherwise, many people would never get started in breeding! Parent to child is better after you get to the next generation.
Is there no way to separate the drake from the goslings? I have a drake that keeps chasing my young girls. Horny baztards.
Line breeding has the potiential for making outstanding individuals and outstanding failures as well. With horses Line breeding is used in Thoroughbreds on occasion. But like you said care needs to be taken.

I tried that first. Built his pen up higher. Our geese frer range. He is an escape artist. I was so mad I was ready to make duck stew. My geese are my babies.. I love them like my kids lmao. This darn drake has been going after the kids and now the geese . I have only kept him cause i wanted his feather type.. he is my least favorite in temperament.

Same basic boat. My current call drake is the prettiest, smallest, best marked that I had, but was always the feistiest and most annoying too (read that as being the biggest horn-dog). I had more for a while, and the girls put up with him, so I let him stay for his beauty. But I have since sold or lost my others, so as soon as a couple young ones grow up, he will move on.

Gotta take DD1 to get her hair done today. You guys wouldn't believe how long it takes a city girl to get her hair done these days :thor how much :he. Looks like I'll be out for the count all day. Please send donations to the;

I can't relate. :confused: My kids only sweetly ask for new clothes when the ones they have look like rags.

Spouse wears nicer clothes.

Have you thought of see if someone close to your area has any and may be willing to swap a drake for yours?:confused:
Yes. None local at all. I hatched these but my incubator took a poo.. I think I'll try what I have and then if it comes down to it bargain with my husband lmao..

I think I'm going to research it a bit more to make sure I know what I'm doing.

Mine is strange. He does not over mate his hen. I've had the pair for awhile and he didnt seem that bad.he never bothers my chickens either. Just my goslings..

Holy crow! :eek:You & Orr are neighbors!
That's cool. I've never met anyone on these forums so close lol

Probably not "actual neighbors, but I'm in Redding. Not city, more toward Igo.
I love igo. We thought about buying a house out there but it was just to far of a commute for my husband to get to work.
