Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

I hope you at least gave the little ungrateful twirp a good :smack

I have my mothers Bernina too! Love that machine. In the kitchen is a large mason jar of hers, filled with buttons. She always cut the buttons off of anything before discarding. I have buttons everywhere. I don't think I'll ever have to buy another button in my lifetime. :D
Karma had a good go at him! ;)

Praying right along with you!

Yes, I believe it has come to that point! :)

I think I would have loved your grandma.. the dumpster quote is fantastic! ! :)
On my way!:old

Ok, who else is gonna join me to go rescue Orr from her addiction?:pop

I’m not doing it alone. My mom has been the one getting everything organized and set out. Aunt is here too, but she lives 3 1/2 hours away so most of the burden has fallen on Mom. I stopped by after school a few times but by then she wa tired and ready to go home.
Its good its not just you or your mom having to handle it all alone.:hugs

Multi quotes out again.

Diva, I like the way you think! :thumbsupYou're my kinda gal! :highfive:

Lisa, can I go to Orrs with you? That framed pic of Dirt is still in my car.

Sour, sorry about the run around with GD. I hope they can figure it out & fix it soon! :fl

Bobbi, :hugs The end of eras are always so hard! :hugs

WV, those memento's are so cool!!! DD3 has always been obsessed with buttons. Its an odd thing for a little kid to be into. Last year for her bday I gave her a big jar full of buttons. DH thought I'd lost my mind, but it was her favorite present.

Lisa, my grandpa had an old 410 too. I have no idea what happened to it (probably my brother has it, because he has all of my dads stuff.) The only thing of my dads my brother doesn't have is a walking stick with a silver duck head on it that I'd bought him years ago. Since my dad needed it to walk he obviously couldn't give it away. When he passed I asked my mother if it would be ok to take back. She was happy to let me have it especially since I'm the one who bought it, but the rest of the family had a fit when they saw it was gone. Too bad! A girl should be allowed to have ONE stinking thing of her dads (even if she has to buy it herself.)

When my sister died, she asked us not to take anything of hers because she wanted every single bit of it kept in storage for her young daughter to have when she grew up. Her ex-BIL lived in a big house with an empty basement & said he'd store her stuff there until the end of time if need be. As the oldest, she had a lot of pictures & nostalgic mementos of our childhood that we would've liked to have kept, but we respected her wishes. 3mo's after her death, ex-BIL met a woman, got married, & got rid of ALL my sisters stuff. He didn't bother to offer any of it to us, just dumped it. The new wife didn't want another womans stuff taking up space in 'her' house, plus, she had decided to banish ex-BIL's ex-BFF dog down in the basement & needed the room. Poor dog! I feel worse about the dog than I do about any of the other stuff... It never fails to amaze me the lengths some men will go to in order to get laid.

Of course you can go with..:hugs:hugs
Im glad you got your dads cane. Its only right! :love

He should have given you the chance to get her stuff... thats just not cool!:rant

I think its so cool you all have such wonderful momentos from family who have passed on..:love
Me too. Mom is still alive but her dementia is so bad she threw out the grandfathers clock Dad made. I also have a huge stoneware crock and kids sleigh that have been in the family a "long" time per Dad. I wonder how many years that is. I do have a grandmothers clock that was brought over from Poland.
My brother has Dad's deer rifle and would not part with it despite the fact that Dad asked for it. He wanted it passed down in the family, and brother has no children. He also has the rocking chair that was mine as a child , and the furnished house we grew up in. But at least i got some stuff.
