I'm gonna try to get a little book, coffee, & nap time in today.

I'm still keeping my eyes open for a "duck in need" but haven't seen any. That's good for the ducks, but its not helping Mako any. She's barricaded herself in a feathered fortress ever since she laid eyes on Baby Iris (8wks ago) Summer is coming & I have to do something to get her out of the coop before we have a roasted duck out there.

Speaking of Baby Iris, her crow (I know, I'm still in pronoun denial) sounds like one of those old toys that you turn the can over & it moo's, meows, or bleats... Iris sounds like all of those at the same time "Meeaaaahhhhh" I cant call her/him Baby anymore either. At 8.5wks he almost as big as the CL's.

Primus makes one of those; a deer call. WV's liable to have one; I do. Never had a deer respond to it, but I have one, just the same. They're like a lot of fishing lures; designed to catch more fishermen than fish.

Yep I have a few different calls. Fawn in distress, doe bleat, etc. I had a momma doe come running once for the fawn in distress call. It was cool!

Your worrying tells me what a good parent you are! At some point we're all faced with questioning, "Am I what they say I am, or am I who I know I am?" As parents we can only pray our littles will pick the right answer to that one.

I have one of those high-dollar do-everything calls they've been hawking on TV forever; about 4 calls in 1, supposedly. It's not as good as they claim, but I've managed to call a couple in from across an open field.

She went back to the other egg that is still there, so hopefully a 6th will hatch. I tried looking for last egg, but its hard to see where she is, so I suspect its under the stuff somewhere and still viable too.
