Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Morning, Deb.
I hope you're still feeling pretty good.
Got a question: If I want an arc 4' H x 6' at the base, I need a shade less than 11' of wire, if I'm following you. Sound about right? Trying to modify a tractor for more headroom with a stock panel I discovered on the old kennel pad the other day.
work with it you will make it come out. it would be great if you got a picture

Morning Pond
Hey Deb???? You still have power? Did grandma's house make it thru the night? Watching the news and they're showing pics from the Alpine area. Just horrible. Prayers for all in the danger zones.
the one up our valley is out Yay... I dont know about the others. Alpine is about twenty miles away and a couple or three of ridges.

My house up in the desert is usually out of danger from the firestorms. Though back in 2007 I ran up there because my neighbor called and spent the night watching a huge fire creeping towards us... but as soon as it hit the haunted valley a strange wind pushed it back on itsself... It was out by mid night.

Our general landscape is dependant on fire. Like the plains in the mid west... its unfortunate that we happend to build in those places....

so far only one fireman has been injured... a few went down from heat exhaustion...

I married DW a month after she finished h.s. We both grew up in small towns outside of D.C., but parts of my family had either been born into farming & left the farm or were currently farming; it was in my blood. It took 6 years, but I finally found a little acreage in the country that we could afford, and set the wheels in motion. First time I brought DW up here, she said "You expect me to move out here to the middle of nowhere; it's 7 miles to the nearest grocery store"! That was the beauty of it for me. Only 3.25 acres, and not large enough to make a living on, but 3.25 acres more than I ever figured I'd own. Today, 46 years later, I'd have to blast her off the place.

Almost identical to the story of the Princess and me. My MIL cried when she saw where we were planning on living. Today 54 years later the only way we intend on leaving is in a pine box - Lord willing.

DS just texted. They think GS has hand, foot and mouth disease. Poor little guy!
Poor fella.... :(
I hope he gets over it soon. :fl That stuffs no fun for sure...:hugs
Because of the extensive damage and repair I required I wasn't awfully mobile (and able to do too much weight bearing) for a long time even after I was able to wear the walking boot (and after) so I bought "Violet" for going to town. Hey, if you gotta have wheels, why not do it with a bit of style?

View attachment 1458026 The color is actually much prettier than shows in the pic and she is "Sparkly" :D Does make you feel better when you are out and about in the stupid ugly black, clunky walking boot and people are complimenting you on your walker!
The really handy thing about this design is it easily folds up flat by just pulling up on the handle in the middle of the seat for loading/unloading but it will also stay standing when folded so it's out of the way at restaurants, etc (or while playing Bingo )
Neat... love the color! :D

But I didn't get any pictures of them there were too many people surrounding me:rolleyes:
Saw an albino alligator. That was pretty cool. And pink flamingos. :gigView attachment 1458253 and of course lots and lots of dead deer :lau
(Wonders of wildlife is a part of bass pro)
Nice! Glad ya had a good time... those pics are great :love
Nice fish! Did ya have a good haul?:pop
Beautiful pics! We took our GD to a zoo today, rode a little train thru the place, walked around and saw all the animals. They even had a barnyard group with donkeys, a few chickens, a couple llamas and some goats. Some exotics, ostriches, zebras, cheetahs, etc. nice small zoo, so not too over powering for a 4year old.
