Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

I don't think you even get meat from the deer you killed, just whichever one they grab.
Not here they don't.... My friend Kurt processes them one at a time.
And they all advertise that specifically..... You sure don't want someone's deer that wasn't taking proper care of......

I could barely drag out the turkey I shot a few years ago. :gig
I'm good at getting the meat off the bones, and the packing and labeling. I can't handle the initial gutting though. Hubby has that down to a science though.
You should do like me..... Shoot the turkey close to the back door.....:gig

Still awake...
No, these are the evacuation/leg cast chicks that are all mutts and as wild as they come... we finally wrangled up the cockerels and got them.penned up, but it's been bedlam out there.
This really isn't in the same league as what your poor birds have been through, but I found it somewhat amusing, with a little stupid thrown in:
First thing yesterday morning I turned out my 5 Orpingtons. It was snowing pretty good, with a couple inches on the ground. They'd never seen snow, and weren't in a big rush to get out. They wandered out, but didn't go very far. I noticed a hen walking back toward the pen, her belly dragging in the snow. Later on, DW saw a few of them huddled under the exterior nest box on the side of the other coop. They could just as easily have gotten under their own coop, or under the shed/shop, either option drier than where they were, but they stayed there all day.

I went out after dark to close everything up, and discovered the 3 of them, 2 hens & the rooster, still roosting under the next box, totally unprotected from marauding foxes or coons. I gathered them all up & dumped them in the pen with the mutts, 'cause I didn't feel like carrying them one by one back to their own place. Surprisingly, the rooster let me pick him up with no problem except some wing flapping. The regular residents were asleep, so I didn't hear any commotion. Don't know about this morning ; haven't been out there yet.

Just proves, once again, that chickens aren't all that bright.

How much did they charge?
Last year I had mine done.... But we've traded ...I did a brake job on his plow truck.
He did my deer..... Which included.
A Ham .... Mostly sausage.... Ground.
10 lbs of jerky. 10 pounds of snack sticks. .....I only had the bank straps made into steak. I don't eat a lot of venison steak anymore.
Over $100.

Grandma said once..."The meat is best near the bone" with a mischievous little grin..." I just about fell off my chair...

Shes old Not dead......:gig
I always get a letter upset with my mother.... She's Always bxtchin about people.... She really doesn't like you women in particular.
The other night she was going on about some teenage granddaughter of a neighbor's at the place she lives.... It's a large senior living apartment complex (nice place wish I lived there some days).
Anyways.... She was griping that this teenage girl at 10:30 at night was kissing her boyfriend under a tree out in the yard. And she didn't feel that the 80 year old plus cried didn't need to see that stuff.....
In the past I would think.... Yeah your right. Not anymore.... As I have more and more aged friends and hear their stories.... My friend Erik is in his 80s just buried his 100 plus year old mom.
And he works on cars every day.... And from what I can tell smokes pot and drinks beer the whole time he does it.
He lost his wife last Xmas ... Cancer
So what else does he got to do.
.....I got off track.
So..... After she started going off again the thought in my head was..... I'm don't really care what old people see (within the norms of society) because they got here and their kids got here because two people F...ed period.
As far as know there was only one Virgin Mary.

Ugh! So sad!!! I'm sorry! :(
That really sucks.... My friends mom fell a few weeks ago.... She was 90.
She broke her hip. She didn't make it either.
It's strange how a simple broken hop can kill you..... And honestly you don't have to be old....I have seen a few 60 year olds die from broken hips.
Although they probably weren't very healthy I suppose.

Well I hope you are wrong.... Too many good people leave.... But I know I haven't seen her in a while. Hope I can get in touch to wish her a happy anniversary.
.....I usually process my deer right away. Depending on the weather.
I spent a week doing it this time. But it was cold outside. And I left it hang on my cherry picker.
I made a nice like deer hanger this year. Guess I'm really glad to have the time and ability to fabricate things.
Today I need to go out and cut the bed off my plow truck so I can get down to the frame and do some repairs work.
Just want to weld a patch in an area that is rusted out.

I'm considering having a small blade installed on my Dakota if this guy don't soon tell me I can pick up the used Kubota & blade I gave him a deposit on Sunday. P.O. was closed Monday for the holiday, but still....

Don't have a clue how much it'd cost to set up my truck with a power angle blade, or even if the truck will handle it, but I intend to find out.

Yeah.... I'm sure with all the stuff I had done it would have been real pricey.
I still would rather someone else did it anymore..... I've processed God knows how many deer.
The one I just did hopefully will be there last I do myself..... But I'm sure it won't be..... Deer here are pretty much a huge part of life.

I'm sure the truck can handle it....I used to bring a nice Dakota home from work to plow. It was the is square body style. 93?..... It has the Magnum 5.2 liter ... Plowed like a mother ..... Great little truck.
Always wanted a two wheel drive model so i could drop a monster motor into....

Good morning , Pond. @WVduckchick, is that lint on the Pond this morning? Our predicted 1-3" turned into 6" +. not much for many but enough to screw things up around here as road crews were not prepared and did nothing. A 20 minute ride to the doctor's office took 45 minutes.

@orrpeople, thanks for stopping by. Sorry that I missed you, but glad that your world is okay.
