Everyone gets to church when they are done getting ready and doing chores... no one person makes other people late.

Or you could use one of those fishnet "hammocks" they sell you hang in the corner for putting the kids' toys in. Hmmm, might be an idea for our presents and throw in some lights and a couple ornaments. Yes!Must be hard to keep presents under the tree, mounted on the ceiling.
How about just a fragrant Wreath....I'm seriously considering just skipping the whole tree thing this year. We have some beautiful decorations and may just go with those. In our little home even that requires quite a bit of shuffling & storing things. Since we won't have any little ones coming to visit, I don't think it will be missed too much. Besides, should we expect some last minute visitors we still have lots of outdoor lights we could toss on one of the trees in the yard. (we don't normally put up outside lights anymore either because the deer don't seem to appreciate them and the bear just sleep thru the whole thing).
Yeah.... could cover that in ornamentsHow about just a fragrant Wreath....

That's an idea. We always cut fresh Balsam boughs anyway to lay in the fireplace when not in use to give that wonderful Christmas smell to the house and I always toss some of the twigs in the water steaming on the stove to keep humidity in the house when the temps drop below zero. I think I still have a wreath hoop or two stored in the garden shed. That's a big cottage industry up here in the fall and early winter. Women making wreaths for the tree lots to ship south and guys out in the woods cutting boughs which the wreath makers pay for by the pound. I don't have my wreath pliers anymore but I'm sure I can manage. Guess I better grab my snowshoes and snow skid in the morning and get out in the woods before that cold snap hits later in the week. It's supposed to drop the windchills below zero. How about just a fragrant Wreath....

Be inventive.... Turn it upside down and nail it to the Ceiling.... Solves the cat issue...
LOL.

Hi Ponders
Whew finally caught up. Cute piggies (do NOT like pork however, except bacon. Bacon has to be a completely different meat, right?)
Wow Phil, hope your wife is feeling better and the doc has some answers for you both.
We only got a few inches out of this last snowfall. Just enough to drag out the snowthrowers. Really heavy stuff. Now we have to make an extra trip to town to restock our supply of shear pins.

(actually have managed to lose 15 lbs. Just by cleaning up my eating habits. Even managed to not fall off the wagon during all the Thanksgiving cooking and company. Guess having your doc scare the heck out of you really does work)
Makes me think of my late MIL. She had asked DH to teach her how to shoot the .22 so she could shoot the bunnies that kept raiding her garden. One day she called and told us that she shot a skunk. And then went on to tell us that she only wounded it, wasn’t able to hit it again to kill it, so she had to beat it to death with a 2x4. Then had to bury her clothes and shoes. That ended her career as a sharp-shooter.
