This certainly is an interesting colored EE. I don’t have a single buff bird.
Closest thing to buff I have is a NHR colored red ranger.

The skunk I caught was in one of those dog-proof foot traps, out by the pond on the farm

I see never heard of one of them....

Helped my brother set traps for a badger.
But it's not a dog friendly trap..... We do use dog friendly weasel traps though.... But I caught a cat once

The part that grabs the critter is down inside the tube. Coons and possums (and apparently skunks!) will reach inside for the bait and spring it closed on an arm. Dog paws normally can't fit down in there, at least not far enough to spring it, so that's why they call them dog-safe. We use the kind you have out at the farm for coyotes, foxes, etc.
Hubby snapped one of the bigger ones on his thumb one day. I could barely pry it open to get him loose. Those things are wicked! lol
