Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Oh dear.. will they be able to travel tomorrow? How long is the storm supposed to last? Will the son and his family be able to get out?
Sorry for all the questions...
Ask away, it's fine! The winds are supposed to die down tonight. It will be bitter cold, but visibility will be OK. (Lows tonight of -14, "high" tomorrow of -4.) The son should be able to get out tonight or tomorrow morning.

We still have our house guests. It's been fun to visit and catch up with them. When they pastored our church, their son and my oldest were best friends. Pretty much inseparable. They moved over 20 years ago, when the boys were in 5th grade. Their son was killed in a plane crash (he was piloting a small plane) about 7 years ago. The mom and I were reminiscing about the boys when they were young. (At least we're snowed in with people we like.)

I really like that when there is nowhere to go and no rush to get there and you're with people you have history in common with.
