Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Tackle is walking this morning; not very well, but she's walking.
I took her out for half an hour this morning. She found the tall grass and weeds hard going but she made it. She must be feeling better because when I squatted down to slide a hand under her to scoop her up she made a run for it.:love
She definitely thinks she has an egg cooking. Once back in the house she checked out all the corners and places where she had some cover, behind my loud speakers on a pile of cables seemed favorite.:hmm
I put her in the nest box in the house with a couple of eggs, she's nest building now and scratching around trying to make hollow.
I would put her in the maternity unit with the earth floor but it's a bit busy in there atm. Three hens are laying in there.
She really wants to be out with her tribe. If she was just a bit fitter I would be inclined to let her sit with them under their favorite bush. There are two problems, one, Cillin will want to mate with her and I don't think his wieght while she crouches is good for her bad leg and horrid sister Mel will take the occasional lunge at her so she may get edged out to the outscirts of whatever cover they're under. Normally not a problem but with a limp and the Gos Hawk around it's too much of a risk.
I think she's stuck with me until she's laid this egg and then I'll see how she is.

:celebrateTackle has laid her first egg. She looks slightly bemused by the whole affair.:love
